INTENSIVE PORTFOLIO PREPARATION STUDIO

2026–2027 · PRE-PROFESSIONAL STUDIO
Exceptional portfolios are developed through sustained inquiry, disciplined practice, critical reflection, and the gradual formation of an independent visual and intellectual position.
The KAP Intensive Portfolio Preparation Studio is a pre-professional program for students developing a distinctive body of work for selective pathways in architecture, art, and design.

A strong portfolio is not simply a collection of finished pieces. It should reveal how a student observes, thinks, develops an idea, tests possibilities, responds to critique, and communicates visually and spatially.

At KAP, portfolio development is therefore approached as a sustained process of inquiry and design. Each student develops an individual body of original work through architectural drawing, spatial development, model making, visual studies, design research, process documentation, critique, and progressive refinement.
PORTFOLIO DEVELOPMENT
The objective is not to produce a standardized portfolio or assemble disconnected work for admission purposes.
Students are guided toward a coherent body of original work that demonstrates development, intellectual engagement, technical and conceptual growth, and an increasingly independent visual and design position.
KAP provides rigorous portfolio development and individualized academic guidance. Admission decisions remain independent and are made by the respective schools, universities, and programs.
