STUDENT WORK
Selected work from across the KAP academic continuum, tracing the development of architectural thinking through observation, representation, making, spatial inquiry, and design.
OBSERVATION & REPRESENTATION
Through observational drawing and visual study, students develop attention to proportion, scale, geometry, spatial relationships, and the character of the built environment. Drawing becomes not only a means of communication, but an instrument for analysis, interpretation, and architectural thought.
FORM, MATERIAL & STRUCTURE
Through model making, geometric study, and material exploration, students investigate how architectural form is composed, how elements come together, and how structure influences spatial possibility. Making becomes a way of testing ideas physically, allowing abstract concepts to acquire scale, material presence, and constructive logic.
DESIGN INQUIRY
Students learn to move between observation, precedent, drawing, experimentation, and model making as ideas are questioned, tested, revised, and refined. Design becomes a process of developing judgment: understanding why one decision strengthens an architectural proposition while another requires reconsideration.
ADVANCED & PORTFOLIO STUDIES
Students develop increasingly resolved architectural work through concept development, representation, technical refinement, critique, and sustained design investigation. The resulting portfolios reflect not only acquired skills, but the emergence of individual judgment and a more deliberate architectural position.
